We'd Like to Introduce Ourselves...

Hi everyone! We are really excited for the coming months and thank you in advance for following our progress with this project!

For our first official post about the Market Garden, I want to intoduce you to our project and our team. Throughout the coming months we'll be sharing our experiences, both good and bad, and talking to you about our farm. The Market Garden is in it's second year and planting just kicked off this week (under gorgeous weather conditions!). (Photo to right: our 1.5 acres at Jackson's Mill)

The Small Farm Center team is located in the Agricultural Science Building of WVU in Morgantown. Under the direction of Tom McConnell (Small Farm Center Director), Carrie See (Program Coordinator) will be leading this year's WVU Jackson's Mill Market Garden project. In addition, the The Small Farm Center staff consists of Adam Hayes (SARE Professional Development Coordinator), Kellen Falkenstine (Program Assistant), Travis Cullen (Graduate Research Assistant), and myself, Bonnie Thomas (Graduate Research Assistant). We come from a variety of educational, professional, and personal backgrounds and represent different cities or towns from across the state.
